Welcome to Latah

Our Community

Latah is...

In the rolling hills of southeastern Spokane County lies the quiet little town of Latah. This tiny community of 150 current residents on Highway 27, was once a lively town with many businesses and nearly 400 residents.

In 1880, bones of a prehistoric mammoth were unearthed at a site just west of Latah. Digging followed producing one of the most complete skeletons of the mammoth, now on exhibit in The Field Museum in Chicago.
