The main aim of this workshop is to help the students expand their compositional concepts and to improve their design skills to achieve these compositional goals. The workshop is divided into four segments; two morning and two afternoon sessions. The morning sessions (9a-12p) are devoted to drawing with three goals: 1. develop new compositional designs 2. clarify shape discovery and shape placement 3. work with a strong emphasis on value structure. The afternoon sessions (2p-6p) will be turned over to painting. We will work on white canvas to begin and will include all of the goals from the drawing sessions with a strong emphasis on color temperature.
