MAY MUSIC AT THE BARN
Dan Maher of Inland Folk
Doors open at 6:15pm with beer, wine and snacks for sale. Music starts at 7pm.
Dan Maher has been one of our most treasured musical resources on the Palouse for over 25 years. He will be singing folk tunes with his guitar accompaniment at this performance. As a performer, Dan is wonderfully engaging and entertaining. He shares new songs, old favorites, stories and lots of fun and laughter.
As the host of Northwest Public Radio’s Inland Folk, Dan has introduced us all to an amazing amount of folk, Celtic, and bluegrass music. His knowledge of folk music is incredibly vast, and luckily for all of us, he delights in sharing his knowledge. Dan spends four or five hours planning and recording each week’s program.
Dan Maher originally fell in love with folk music as a teenager growing up in Spokane. A celebrated musician, he actually began his career in music during his college years at Washington State University, performing covers of the Eagles and Neil Young in venues around the area. His love for folk eventually led to his involvement with public radio as the host of what has come to be the weekly three-hour folk music radio show, Inland Folk, which is approaching its 31st year on the air. He is his own producer, editor and engineer for the show.
We are pleased to have Dan Maher and Inland Folk sponsoring our Summer Concert Series again this year.
