CULINARY ARTS: Knife Skills and Summer Wine Tasting and Pairing
Many cooks, both home and professional, don’t always wield a knife correctly, increasing food prep time and potentially danger to the user. In this class you will learn how to slice, dice and chop safely and efficiently. You will also learn the appropriate knife for the task at hand and how to purchase knives in future based on the materials used in the blades. The instructor will also guide you in sharpening your knives and storing them properly. Other topics covered will be smaller kitchen tools and food safety.
While you’re learning about knives, also learn about purchasing wine to get the best value for your dollar and how to uncork wine and serve it properly. Emphasis in this class will be on summer wines which are served well outdoors. Cost effective party planning techniques will also be shared and various wines will be sampled during the session.

A minimum of 15 students is required for this class.
Please register by May 23 so that we are sure we have the minimum amount of attendees to hold the class.
